New House

Its been a while, of course, but I honestly haven't been taking many pictures this year! I need to remedy that. We've got lots of fun things planned for this spring/summer, so that shouldn't be a hard task to accomplish.

To kick things off, I'll put up some pictures of our new house! It was quite exciting to buy our first house, and its been great living in it for the past few weeks. We love love love our neighborhood, in my opinion you really can't beat SE Portland. Love this city and especially love the little community in the Arleta/Woodstock neighborhood. Anyway, onto the pics!

I'm kind of in love with the front door

view from the living room window

side of the house

Backyard; next year we want to put a deck along
the back of the house with french doors in our bedroom
opening up to it.

That huge shed is a blight in an otherwise nice yard,
but I can't get rid of it!

The sewing/reading/guest room

The very unfinished scrapbooking/music/computer room

me of course!

the awesomely purple bathroom

our gigantic bedroom, kind of hard to get a good picture of it!

This panoramic didn't really work, but you get the idea

the smallish kitchen, which turns out is
actually pretty great to cook in

Christmas Stuff

There have been lots of Christmas activities in the last week, and more to come! We'll start with this weekend:

Putting up Xmas lights sucks,
but its worth it!

White icicle lights with big blue lights, pretty.

I knitted a mitten for Henry, more to come!

A good find at Value Village, Patron anyone?

Now going back to last weekend, we partook in the most important Christmas event...procuring the tree! Erik, Roy and I (and Pup and Cap of course) went to Mt. Hood to search for the perfect tree. Our search was fruitful and fun.

Ta da!
We also had our work Christmas party (sorry no pictures), which was fun of course. However, in the future I will eat BEFORE I drink, so I don't forget to eat all the delicious food. Lesson learned.

Next weekend: Kristin will be here to help make lots of cookies, drink lots of rum, and have a jolly good time listening to Christmas music until Erik's head explodes.

House

Recently, our landlord painted our house. Its not quite done, needs the rest of the trim painted, but it looks great! My mom wanted to see the colors, so here it is!

The house is a dark shade of orange, the window trim is a dark plum, and the trim is a dark greenish/brown. Kinda wild, but pretty cute.

And my two Halloween decorations!

Westport, WA

Last month we went to Westport, WA with Kim, Todd, Kristin, Ryan, and Kim's friend Chris. We stayed at Kristin's grandparents cabin and had an awesome weekend! Westport is a cute little town with some shops and lots and lots of ocean! My favorite part was definitely the bonfire on the beach.

Yale Lake

As usual, I'll be updating a little at a time. My camera battery is dead right now, but I will upload the pictures I already have on the computer. Summer just flew by and fall, it seems, it suddenly here! I love Fall in Portland. The weather is so mild, lots of crisp sunny days, trees are beautiful, the grass turns green again, its great!

The biggest news lately is that Erik's parents have finally moved down here! They are living in Battleground, WA and are very happy to be out of AK. In September we took their boat out to Yale Lake and had a great time. That was the last weekend of summer, it seems like, and it was a good one!

we beached the boat in a neat little cove

the dogs were very good and had a great time

Erik drove most of the time
